The Film & Television Charity exists to help creativity thrive by providing financial and emotional support for people working in the film, TV and cinema industries, 24/7, at every stage of their career and beyond. Alongside grants and talent development supporting individuals and their families to overcome barriers, the charity runs the Film & TV Support Line – 0800 054 00 00 – a unique service providing free, impartial and confidential support 365 days a year on a wide range of issues, offering fast-track referral to legal and financial advice and counselling services. Topics that the service can assist with include harassment at work, support for anxiety, debt advice and addiction counselling.
The charity recently launched a ground-breaking industry-wide study, rallying those working in the sector to share their experiences and offering in-depth analysis of the wellbeing of the UK’s film, TV and cinema workforce and building a picture of how people could be better supported. The charity is entirely dependent upon voluntary donations. For more information visit filmtvcharity.org.uk/looking-glass-survey. Follow on Twitter and Instagram @FilmTVCharity
